WHAT IS PAINTBALL? |
Paintball is a game that is played all over the world. Every weekend thousands of men, women, and children enjoy
being outdoors and playing one of the most thrilling action games ever created. Paintball is similar to a game
called "Tag" that we all played as kids. Instead of using our hands to tag opponents, paintball players use specially
designed airguns that propel a paintball. When the paintball hits a player, it breaks open and leaves a spot of
non-toxic water soluble paint. This paint spot means that the player has been tagged and is out of the game.
The player must return to the starting area and wait for the next game.
A typical game would be as follows:
After all players listen to an orientation that covers safety rules, game rules, and operation of the equipment,
the players would be divided into two teams. Each team would be escorted onto the paintball field by our referees
and led to their starting point called a flag station. Now is when the players decide their strategy which should
include offense and defense. A horn would then sound signaling the start of the game and the players must try to
"tag" their opponents until the objective is complete. One very popular game is called Capture The Flag. Players must
go to the opposing team's flag station, get a flag and then return it to their own flag station without getting hit
by a paintball. If you think this is easy come up and try it!
If a player does get marked with paint, he/she must return to the waiting area for the next game to begin. Games
last approximately 15 minutes. If you get marked out early in a game don't worry because another one will start soon.
Between games players are allowed five minutes to get some refreshments and reload their paintguns before the next game.
